VOTING REQUIRMENTS
Register to vote for all county elections at the Dooly County Courthouse in the Tax Commissioner's Office. You must be 18 years of age and a resident of Dooly County. You must register 30 days before an election in order to vote.

DRIVER'S LICENSES
Driver's licenses may be obtained from the Georgia State Patrol Office, 409 South Midway Road in Cordele, Georgia, Wednesday-Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. License service is available in Vienna on the 1st Tuesday of each month at the Dooly County Sheriff's Office on Cotton Street from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Georgia law requires new residents to obtain a license within 30 days of moving into the State.

AUTOMOBILE TAGS
License plates ares sold in Tax Commissioner's office on the square in downtown Vienna. The Tax Commissioner also receives applications for titles and issues renewal decals for automobiles and mobile homes. New residents from other Georgia counties should register as soon as possible. New residents from another state have 30 working days in which to register an automobile.

TAXES
The Georgia sales tax rate is 4%, with a local option tax of an additional 1% and a special purpose local option sales tax of 1%. Georgia levies a state income tax, real and personal property taxes, and intangible taxes. For more information, please contact the Dooly County Tax Commissioner's Office at 229.268-4212. The Tax Commissioner can assist you with homestead exemption information, also.

HUNTING & FISHING LICENSES
Georgia requires licenses for hunting and fishing on public properties. For more information, contact the Chamber.

CHURCHES
Dooly County has an estimated 47 churches of all denominations. A list may be obtained from the Chamber at 117 East Union Street in Vienna.

CIVIC & CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS
Opportunities for volunteering with local charitable organizations or membership in nationally-affiliated civic groups abound. The Chamber can provide a list.
